Good luck Rod!
Thank you, Tom!:)
Hello all! It's good to be in the real trading world with you.:)
I am a newbie to trading. I've recently opened Roth IRAs for my Wife & I, and an ESA for my Daughter through Scottrade. I have a couple of predated trades I would like to share with you.
3 Mar: EFU @ 149.89
5 Mar: EFA @ 33.04
As mentioned, I am new at this. I took the approach to hedge EFU against EFA, and EFA against EFU. I realize my gains will be small. But at the same time my losses will be minimal. Once the market stabilizes my plans are to dump, or at the very least minimize my exposure in EFU.
I've tailored Tom's TSP Tracker to track these buys. They are as follows, COB, 6 Mar:
EFA: -1.39%
EFU: -0.29%
Any advice/tips are appreciated!

Welcome, Rod! It's great to see another familiar face join our little band. :) I'm a newbie, too, but am learning fast because of the great interactions here. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am.
Lady
Hey Rod, good to see you here :)
I just sold EFU @ 144.35, and picked up more EFA @ 33.11.
I plan to go long with EFA.
God Bless:)
I'm sorry... that was EFU @ 144.38. Not 144.35.
I'm sure glad I'm home right now (due to having a tooth this morning), or I would have never been able to make these trades.
God Bless:)
That would be "tooth pulled".
Oxycodone is kicking in.......
You're braver than I am, Rod! I'd never dare trade on an oxycodone day! :embarrest: Hope your mouth feels better soon.:)
Lady
Thank you, Lady.:)
I returned from the dentist around 0930, so I got my trades in right as it was kicking in.
I feeling fine now. Just a little light-headed. I'm back in my office relaxing on my recliner and watching CBNC.
BTW, about 20 minutes ago Mark Haines on CBNC called the bottom. Of course, that does not make it a bottom. But it's nice to hear.
I read somewhere that when you first begin to trade, you should concentrate on only a couple of stocks, or ETFs, etc. That's why I chose EFU and EFA. I will add more positions soon enough.
God Bless:)
I bought some C @ 1.30
I made 11.54% off my Citibank buy today.
I added 6.45% to my EFA position.
God Bless:)
I meant to say, Citigroup. Not Citibank.
I'm sure you knew this.:)
Still holding (C) and (EFA)... along with my breath!
I don't plan on dumping (C) anytime soon. That's definitely a long-termer.
I'm still holding ( C ).
Gain so far is 38%.
I don't think C has any more room to go.
Well guys, we now have 4 days in a row of gains in the books. I don't believe we've done that since Nov.
Just wanted to share that my ( C ) position is now up 79.23% since I bought it on 10 Mar!
Just think if I would have dumped my entire portfolio into it...
I'm sure it would have been down 79.23% then!
I'm having much fun with this one!
Still holding ( C ).
UP 134% so far.
There goes 2.95-3.00 level in C. If it manages to close above 3, more short squeeze fun for you ahead Rod.
Ha, I like that idea. Buku gains without the leverage.
( C ) is ripe for a long-term position.
It should at least make its way back up to $50 in a matter of time, IMO.
As long as you don't bet your entire portfolio on it, you will have the patience to wait and watch it grow.
I did add more ( C ) at 3.09.
BTW, the VIX is teetering.
Sold my C today at 2.95. Bought at 1.95. Good, but you are doing way better. Good luck!!
