After a rough start in 2009, Ebb's ETF picks have actually been on fire lately. He had a buy signal for today, but he has an ugly sell signal for tomorrow so I may make another short play just before the close today. That would be a buy of BGZ or sell short BGU. I'm a little worried about the financials ability to hang tough lately, hence the BG's rather than FAZ.

OK, bought BGZ (3 x bear) @ 59.24 for tomorrow's pattern 3 (ebb-ese).

Hoping Ebb's streak contnues.

Sold BGZ @ 55.91

Sold FAZ @ 17.36 (ave buy, 58.61)

I haven't been flat in a while and I just had to get there to clear my head.

I'll be looking for another spot to short, but will likely short the long leveraged ETF's instead of buying the short ETFs.

Yeah, ouch is right. Horrible trade. I feel inclined to stay short, but that negative bias toward the leveraged ETF's and the fact that I felt frozen to do anything else while holding that FAZ position, led me to get flat and get that trade behind me. Ready to start anew.

Selling this rally...

Bought TZA (3X short small caps) @ 43.85

I would have preffered to short TNA (the long 3 X ETF), but Scottrade does not seem to have shares of several 3X bull funds available to short.

I should have taken my own advise and waited until today's close to get short again - what with today's stong seasonality.

The trend is to reverse on Monday but I have to consider bailing today or risk another FAZ episode. We'll see how the day plays out.

I'll bet Monday is better! If I didn't have to wait for $ to settle, I'd dump my GDX and buy TZA in the pre-open .... but I do so I won't.
