Bought GGP @ .69 (regular brokerage account)

Bought Hero @ 1.65 (regular brokerage account)

I have a brokerage account that I call "emergency funds."

Every pay day I take 50 bucks, put it in this account, and buy some random stock. I don't manage the account or watch the price action on a daily basis. It is a basic buy and hold account.

Bought the GGP @ .69 and it's now sitting at 1.05 It was nothing more then bottom picking luck, but I'll keep it for now.

Bought FAZ @ 51.32

Got Stopped out @ 14.12 for a 72.48% loss.

This is what can happen when you trade off the backs of others (Attilla) instead of following your own personal guidlines. Nobody to blame but myself on this one.

The good news is that now I can focus on better trading opportunitites.

Yeah, J, I lost about 10% of my entire account in FAZ before I finally gave up on it.

That was a good money management lesson. Since then I've read several pieces that say you should never be able to have more than 2% account risk on any one trade. After I learned a bit about how to figure risk levels, I found out how badly I screwed up the FAZ trade. I have a feeling that there are some of us that will know exactly what is meant when someone says, "That ETF is doing a 'FAZ'."

Afterwards stops will be placed in .25 cent increments until stopped out. I'll be watching to see what the overall market tone is, but most likely I'll be in cash by day's end.
